WSOP 2011 – Michael Mizrachi misses out on second bracelet
With Phil Ivey not competing in the 2011 WSOP his $2,500 Omaha/Stud 8 title was going to go undefended. Well, Michael Mizrachi made the November Nine the year after Ivey so he’s decided to try and defend the man’s bracelets as well. Unfortunately for him he came up short and had to settle for second place.
WSOP 2011 – Jason Mercier leads $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw
Some people accuse Jason Mercier of just getting lucky and catching cards. Well, he’s been dealt rags for the past two days in Event #49 and has still taken the chip lead heading into Day 3. It’s a lowball tournament, though, so rags are the nuts.
WSOP 2011 – $5,000 NL Triple Chance draws huge field
With the field sizes for the 2011 WSOP breaking records, no one was too surprised to see a monster field for the $5,000 NL Triple Chance event. What was surprising was that the overall field of 814 players was actually more than competed in Event #4, the $5,000 NL freezeout.

Sowers, Moorman and ElkY top $10k Six-Handed Championship
Just 22 players remain in the $10,000 Six-Handed No Limit Hold'em Championshipand there are some very familiar names at the head of the chip counts.

No, you're not about to get Fricke rolled. Gobboboy really does lead the field in the $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball event.
WSOP 2011 - Kenneth Griffin wins event #45 $1,000 No Limit Hold'em
If you're going to win a World Series of Poker bracelet you might as well do it in style, either with a ridiculous 7-2 bluff or with pocket aces. Kenneth Griffin did it with the latter, crowning a spectacular few days for the former US Marine that saw him win his first WSOP bracelet as well as pocket the not so small matter of $455,436.

Driscoll, Teng and Esfandiari head $1k NL Hold'em field with 21 left
Phil Hellmuth was again the big story in the latest $1,000 No Limit Hold'em event. The Poker Brat looked on course to make it a third final table at this year's World Series but the 11-time bracelet winner busted shortly before the close.
$10,000 six-max NL Hold'em Day 1 complete – Sternberg leads
The $10,000 short-handed No Limit Hold'em Championship event was one of the most eagerly encountered tournaments at this year's WSOP and the Day 1 action didn't disappoint.
Ben Lamb wins $10k PLO Championship
After finishing second in the $3,000 PLO event earlier this month Ben Lamb has gone one better in the $10,000 buy-in Championship Event and in the process nudged Phil Hellmuth off top of the Player of the Year standings.
