WSOP 2011 – Michael Mizrachi misses out on second bracelet

Thursday, 30 June 2011

With Phil Ivey not competing in the 2011 WSOP his $2,500 Omaha/Stud 8 title was going to go undefended. Well, Michael Mizrachi made the November Nine the year after Ivey so he’s decided to try and defend the man’s bracelets as well. Unfortunately for him he came up short and had to settle for second place.

Owais Ahmed is our $2,500 Omaha/Stud 8 champion and walks away with a first prize of $255,959 and his first bracelet. He defeated not only Mizrachi but a stacked final table including Scotty Nguyen and dozens of Hi/Lo specialists throughout the field.

Mizrachi will have to settle for $158,000 for his runner-up finish but after a multi-million dollar WSOP last year that is a drop in the ocean; he wanted the second bracelet more than the cash.
