After the opening day of the $1,500 NL 6-max bracelet event a field of 1,920 has been whittled down to 188, just eight places off the money as Day 2 begins tonight. Leading the way is Anthony Spinella who turned his 4,500 starting stack into 223,000 by the time players bagged up chips.

The $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold ‘em Championship began Day 3 with 27 players in the money and the potential for a star-studded final table. Mike Matusow, Jennifer Tilly, Robert Mizrachi and Toby Lewis were all still in play but all fell short of the final nine.

The $5,000 NL event was originally intended to be a three-day tournament but with just four players remaining and eight eyes getting weary play was stopped overnight and the final four returned the next day.

The first small buy-in No Limit Hold ‘em event has gotten under way at the World Series of Poker this weekend with over 4,000 players putting up $1,000 to compete in one of the largest annual poker tournaments in the world. Just 624 of them remain after two days.

As Mike Johnson of the Two Plus Two Pokercast put it: it’s good to see more poker champions named Harrison. Harrison Wilder joins one Mr. Gimbel, though some may argue that Wilder’s WSOP bracelet is worth more than Gimbel’s PCA title.

It's been quite the year and a half for Jake Cody. After taking an EPT title in Deauville and a WPT on home turf in London the young Briton has completed the triple crown after winning the WSOP $25k Heads Up Championship. All at the tender age of 22.
