WSOPE Day 3 - Pantling leads as the field thins
Just 32 players remain at Day 3 of the World Series of Poker Main Event. Andrew “clockwyze” Pantling’s stack is by far the biggest in the room and takes up a good chunk of the felt in front of him. Phil Ivey is also still in the hunt with a big stack but Viktor Blom has slipped down.
Break time - 35 players remain at WSOPE
The World Series of Poker Europe £10,000 Main Event has gone on a twenty-minute break between blind levels. We are now in the money and 35 players return with blinds at 2,500/5,000/500 attempting to survive the next eight eliminations and make Day 4.
WSOPE - 36 remain, Andrew Pantling leads as bubble bursts
With the elimination of Rudy Blondeau in 37th place we are in the money at the World Series of Poker Europe. He got his chips in after an under the gun raise was 3-bet by Bryan Powell. A shove, a call and he was in dire straits against Powell’s A-A with A-Q.
Money bubble approaches - let's check out the cash
We are left with just 40 players at the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event – four of them will be going home empty-handed while the rest will pocket anything from £21,106 to the top prize of £830,401 and a World Series of Poker bracelet.
Money bubble approaching at WSOPE - 43 players left.
We knew when Rob “Vega_Lion” Akery, himself a high stakes cash player who has been seen at stakes up to $500/$1,000, was moved to Viktor Blom’s table that there would be fireworks. They have been going at it culminating in a hand that saw Blom take his reduced stack back up to 400,000.
Isildur1 takes a hit to double de Wolfe; Negreanu and Elezra head home
We are down to just five tables from the 346 entrants of the £10,000 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event here at The Empire and since our last update we’ve got a fair bit to tell you. While Viktor “Isildur1” Blom is still in contention, his stack has diminished at the hands of Roland de Wolfe.
WSOPE Day 3 update - Seed takes a hit but wins a bet
Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Huck Seed are both aggressive players so fireworks go off when they’re at the same table. Especially when they’re seated alongside each other. Especially when it’s blind versus blind.
Dan Shak eliminated from the WSOPE after questionable play
Dan Shak was eliminated in 54th place today to join the rail on Day 3 of the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event. I can’t say I’m surprised – in the three and a half days that I’ve been watching the event, Shak made not one but two of the worst plays I saw all week.
Ivey leads after first level of WSOPE Day 3.
We’re on the first break of Day 3 at The Empire and already it’s been an exciting level with nine eliminations already including JP Kelly, Nam Le and November Niner Jon Dolan. Byrn Kenney is in danger of joining them if he doesn’t show up soon – we’re calling oversleeping on tournament days “doing a Moorman” from now on.
Hendon Mobster makes moves pre-flop
Naturally, we’ve been standing in between tables 21 and 22 to rail Ivey and Blom equally. We must bring Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman good luck because as we watched he increased his 135,000 stack to over 155,000 in two hands.
