The first hand of the WSOPE final table was a middle position raise to 65,000 from James Bord and a prompt collection of 60,000 in blinds and antes as everyone folded – shortstack Nicolas Levi didn’t get his wish of a walk in the first hand of his BB.

Two opening days, three further days and a total of more than 36 hours of poker grinding are behind the nine finalists of the World Series of Poker Europe £10,350 No Limit Hold ‘em Championship. PokerStars Pro Arnaud Mattern was rocking his short stack for hours but unfortunately his spectacular comeback has ended. Down to just 12,000 at the 4k/8k blind level, Mattern doubled up again and again to hit 184,000 by the 5k/10k. He eventually moved in with Kd-Td for his last 124,000 and was promptly isolation raised by Brian Powell.

Wow! Just when we were thinking we might end up being here all night due to the slow pace of eliminations in comparison to earlier; Roland de Wolfe has knocked out fellow Brit Barny Boatman and Clint Coffee to move up to over 1,100,000.
