Hoyt Corkins busts from WSOPE in 15th place
Hoyt Corkins busts from WSOPE in 15th place

Hoyt Corkins won’t be adding another bracelet to his collection – the big-hatted Alabama cowboy moved all his chips into the middle whilst in a late position raise-off with Italian player Fabrizio Baldarassari; the American held A-Q and was in trouble against K-K.

Brian Powell crippled with 15 left in WSOPE

It took two hands for Brian Powell to go from 675,000 to less than 200,000 with Victory Poker CEO Dan Fleyshman and Marc Inizan reaping the rewards. Inizan doubled through Powell when the two got it in before the flop for Inizan’s last 220,000 or so – Powell was in great shape with A-K versus A-J... that is, until the dealer laid out a J-J-2-5-8 board to double Inizan to more than 500,000.

Since Viktor Blom was eliminated the rail has diminished and the action has slowed, but there are still a lot of big names in the hunt as Barny Boatman, Roland de Wolfe, Hoyt Corkins and Nicolas Levi attempt to make the final table. These are the most recent chip counts:

Bojan Gerdovic eliminated; Fleyshman (maybe) new chip leader
Bojan Gerdovic eliminated; Fleyshman (maybe) new chip leader

Just eight players remain on each table at the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event and while we're not losing them as fast as we did last level, a pre-dinner final table isn't totally out of the question.

Anthony Newman eliminated; 17 players remain
Anthony Newman eliminated; 17 players remain

We’re now down to just 17 players at the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event since we just lost Anthony Newman. He 3-bet his remaining 200,000 chips quickly over James Bord’s 29,000 raise and received an equally quick call. Bord held A-Q and Newman J-J for an either-way confrontation.

With the elimination of Phil Ivey at the hands of Ronald Lee (boo! hiss!) we are down to 18 players in the WSOPE Main Event. Each of them has locked up £33,285 for making it this far but the final table will see seven of the remaining competitors earn six figures.

Phil Ivey eliminated in 19th place (£26,400); redraw to two tables
Phil Ivey eliminated in 19th place (£26,400); redraw to two tables

Phil Ivey has been eliminated from the World Series of Poker Europe in 19th place and wins £26,400 – but it’s a far cry from the £830,401; ninth WSOP bracelet and $5,000,000 bet from Howard Lederer that he was aiming for when he started the day.

Roland de Wolfe doubles up through Clint Coffee
Roland de Wolfe doubles up through Clint Coffee

Roland de Wolfe has doubled up to an average stack at the expense of Clint Coffee in an all-in before the flop. Coffee, in the big blind, got into a pre-flop raising battle with de Wolfe who eventually put all his chips in and showed Th-Tc to Coffee’s Ad-Qc.

The name's Bord... James Bord
The name's Bord... James Bord

James Bord is short and unshaven dressed in tracksuit bottoms and a plain white t-shirt – who is this man who took the chip lead (albeit briefly) at the World Series of Poker £10,350 Main Event? The UK player is one of the lesser-known players in the 19-strong field but if he makes the final table it won’t be his first.

WSOPE Day 4 - breaktime, 19 remaining

What an action packed day it has been so far. Day 4 of the World Series of Poker Europe £10,350 No Limit Hold ‘em Championship (to give it its full and somewhat pretentious title) saw 22 players return to the felt with £26,400 locked up but £830,401 a distinct possibility by tomorrow night.
