After despatching and then losing to Daniel Negreanu in a special edition of the SuperStar Showdown lasting two weeks, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom took to the PokerStars tables again last night to battle long-time nemesis Scott “URnotINdanger2” Palmer across four tables of $50/$100 heads-up.

As the milestone 60 billionth hand approached at PokerStars yesterday the cash game tables filled up with several hundred thousand hands being dealt every 10 minutes and some players finding it impossible to get a seat at a table. Eventually at around 2pm UK time hand 5,999,999,999 played out and the games paused.

We already brought news that a tentative schedule for the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker 2011 had been released, featuring 111 tournaments of high, medium and low buy-in across 37 events. The prize pool was set with a guarantee of $63,000 for the series with twelve seven-figure guarantees including a $1m, $3m and $5m guaranteed Main Event.
