The swings in Gus Hansen’s life are continuing but fortunately for The Great Dane they are still continuing at an upward trend despite an overall loss of $200,000 in the past 48 hours at Full Tilt Poker. On Sunday night-cum-Monday morning he lost over half a million dollars.

This happened in a huge $1,500/$3,000 heads-up 2-7 Triple Draw game against O Fortuna PLS who took Hansen on for 1,100 hands before leaving with $560,000 profit. Hansen was the biggest winner in Full Tilt’s nosebleed draw games and still maintains a place at the top of the March leaderboard despite the hefty loss.

He did some work to get it back though, taking on Scott “URnotINdanger2” Palmer and Rui Cao, winning almost $350,000 at the CAP PLO tables which have been treating him very kindly recently. His analytical and mathematical approach to poker seems to be paying dividends in the fixed limit or capped games.

Hansen’s overall tear through high stakes seems unstoppable right now. Since November 2010 he has earned nearly $5,000,000 online with the World Series of Poker Europe bracelet earned in the Heads-Up High Roller event giving him huge amounts of good karma.
