To call the numbers from the FTOPS XX $640 Main Event ‘disappointing’ would not be entirely accurate. To generate a prize pool of over $2.7m with 4,666 entries after losing a huge chunk of players to Black Friday is a remarkable achievement on Full Tilt’s part. One person who won’t be complaining is Ariel Celestino who won $346,696.49 and the FTOPS XX title.

Finland continues to be the main beneficiary of Black Friday as Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, Patrik Antonius and Jens Kyollonen continued to win money at the high stakes tables. We already reported that the three were up over $2.1m but now thanks to renewed efforts from Ziigmund and Antonius, it’s over $3m.

The SuperStar Showdown reduced the stakes and adjusted the format for the second time in nine runs this past Sunday with Viktor “Isildur1” Blom beating qualifier “MASTERMIXUS” out of $1,279 over 2,500 hands of $5/$10 NL across four tables.

Well we all kind of knew that when the US bowed out of online poker the Scandinavians would be the dominating force. This was proven over the weekend when three Finnish players were the biggest winners at the Full Tilt Poker PLO games, bringing back over $2.2m into the Finnish economy.
