Richard Ashby made his name as one of the world’s most prolific high-stakes online PLO players. In July 2009 he earned a total of 1,824,074 over a four-week period. His live breakthrough came in 2010 when he picked up a bracelet at the WSOP 7-Card Stud event $140,467 and came second in the $10,000 HORSE World Championship, netting himself $378,027. In the same year he won WCOOP $2,100 Pot Limit Omaha 6-max event, an impressive haul that lead to him being voted the Best All-Round Poker Player by his peers at the British Poker Awards.
