Biography
Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier was a champion “gamer” before he turned his attention to poker, and his prowess at military sci-fi strategy game Starcraft made him a celebrity in Korea. ElkY first turned his attention to online poker, realising that many of the skills that made him so adept at Starcraft would translate to the virtual felt. This he did with gusto, becoming the first player to reach “Supernova” and “Supernova Elite” status on PokerStars, at one point earning 100,000 player points in just two weeks.
ElkY’s success soon began to translate to the live arena, his first major breakthrough coming when he won the PCA Main Event for $2m in 2008. Later that year he won the WPT Championship in Las Vegas and never looked back. As of January 2013 he has over $10m in tournament winnings.
