Biography
Although “Mad” Marvin Rettenmeier has been a hugely consistent tournament player since late 2009, it was in 2012 that he truly shone, particularly when he became the first player to win back-to-back WPT titles. In May of that year, he won the WPT World Championship in Las Vegas for $1.1m, before flying out to Cyprus in August to take top spot there too. Incredibly, in the interim, he cashed in six WSOP events, plus another two at the WSOPE later that year, an awesome string of results that saw him win Bluff Magazine’s Player of the Year title. A hugely popular and colourful figure on the circuit, he never travels without his guitar for the odd impromptu serenade.
