WSOP Circuit Caesars Palace - 67 players remain

Wednesday, 28 April 2010

London player Paul Alterman took down the $1,080 event at Caesars Palace for the WSOP Circuit but now a tough field of seasoned pros are vying for even more cash as the $5,000 event saw a 150-strong field.

Layne Flack, Doug Lee, Jeff Madsen and Bryan Devonshire are all still in the hunt for a first prize set at $190,000. Defending champion Justin Bonomo and recently-crowned WPT champion David Williams both hit the rail on Day 1 to become one of the 83 players eliminated.

Layne Flack held a massive chip lead towards the end of the day – after a nasty confrontation with Anthony Yeh he sits on 109,000; good for fifth place in the chip counts. A board of Ad-8c-3c-9d-9c saw all the money go in but Flack’s 33 was crushed by the 88 of Yeh, who doubled up to about 105,000.

Join us tomorrow to find out who made the final table in Caesars Palace.
