WPT Vienna Day 2 complete - Ravnsbaek leads

Monday, 28 March 2011

555 players bought into the €3,500 WPT Vienna Main Event over the weekend making it the biggest World Poker Tour tournament on this side of the Atlantic. Only 35 of those starters are still in contention for the big money though with Simon Ravnsbaek the hare for the chasing pack to catch.

Ravnsbaek will start Day 3 with 1,194,0000 followed by Gromov Dmitry on 1,187,000 and Mario Adinolf on 1,009,000. A second World Poker Tour victory could be on the cards for Alessio Isaia who won last month's EPT event in Venice. The Italian returns with 258,000.

Isaia isn't the only player in contention for a double. Well sort of. Natalia Nikitina won the recent WPT Diamond Championship in Paris and though she busted out early here, her partner Maxim Kolosov is very much still in the hunt in the Austrian capital.

Other notables still in with a shout include EPT Copenhagen runner up Per Linde, WSOP $1.5k bracelet winner and Main Event eleventh placed finisher Pascal Lefrancois and Britain's Rob Akery.

The remaining players are guaranteed at least €10,340 with the winner set to walk away with €447,840.
