Praz Bansi leads PCA Day 2

Praz Bansi leads PCA Day 2

Saturday, 9 January 2010

Terrence Chan, Justin Bonomo, Glen Chorny and Dario Minieri – if you find out these are your tablemates in the $10,300 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event you might as well just burn your money. Not Hit Squad member Praz Bansi.

The WSOPE 2009 third-place finisher managed to end Day 2 with the chip lead despite being seated at easily the most godawful table in the room. He hits Day 3 with just shy of 1,000,000 chips – over a quarter million ahead of his nearest competitor.

PokerStars Pro JC Alvarado was largely responsible for this monster stack after the two clashed in a huge pot. Bansi turned a flush before getting his money in against top set, holding up against Alvarado’s outs to scoop a 700,000 pot.

The 314 players remaining out of the PCA record 1,529 competitors will play down to the money tomorrow where 124 players will cash. Phil Ivey is still in the hunt, which as you can read here would be very bad news for Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

Join us over the weekend for PCA updates.
