If Ivey cashes in PCA; Dwan has to pay out

Saturday, 9 January 2010

Of the 1,529 players that entered the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event, only 314 remain. One of those is Phil Ivey, who could earn a nice cherry on top of the $2,200,000 first prize should he win.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Ivey cross-booked each other’s action, meaning that if one cashes then the other has to pay out that amount to the player. Some sources say that they are cross-booking 50% but PokerListings bloggers report that it is a 100% bet. This seems more in keeping with their gamble.

Should Ivey make the 124 players who cash he will therefore receive an extra $15,000 from Dwan. If he makes the final table, durrrr will pay out at least an extra $150,000 but should he win the whole shebang then Tom will be facing a $2.2m payout. Ouch.

Join us tomorrow to find out if Dwan should be reaching for his wallet as the 314 players go into the money.
