Fedor Holz Does It Again

Fedor Holz Does It Again

Tuesday, 5 January 2016

Fedor Holz has begun the new year in the same way as he finished the old, by winning a super high-roller event from the World Poker Tour (WPT).

The young German pocketed over $1.5 million in cash last month after triumphing in the $100,000 buy-in Alpha8 super high-roller event in Las Vegas and has now boosted his bankroll by a further $3,463,500 by prevailing in the Triton Super High Roller Series Cali Cup held at the Solaire Resort And Casino in Manila.

The $200,000 buy-in event was part of the National Philippines series and attracted a field of some 52 high-rolling professionals and deep-pocketed businessmen with Holz safely navigating his way past the likes of Mike McDonald, Paul Phua, Dan Colman, Phil Ivey and Steve O'Dwyer before seeing off David Peter heads-up.

“It’s so unreal,” said 22-year Holz, who now has career tournament earnings of $7.2 million.

“I was so close so many times. It makes it even more special when you play against the best and win.”
