Double delight for Albert Sapiano

Double delight for Albert Sapiano

Monday, 30 April 2012

It's been quite the month for Albert Sapiano. The Palm Beach Casino regular got April off to a flying start by winning the Genting Poker Series event at the Fox Poker and his hot streak continued this weekend when he took down GUKPT Thanet.

Sapiano outlasted a field of 67 runners who bought into the £500 six-max event at the G Casino in Margate, dominating the final two days with a string of eliminations. The veteran went into the final table with half the chips and only relinquished the lead at the start of heads up play with Stephen Bovis. That deficit didn't last long though as Sapiano pounded his challenger into submission with a string of hyper aggressive moves before sealing the win with top pair against Bovis's bottom pair.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1st.....£10,720....Albert Sapiano
2nd......£7,700....Stephen Bovis
3rd......£5,110....Nick Woodward
4th......£3,020....Hasan Taner
5th......£2,430....Nathan Lee
6th......£1,840....Louis Scriven

The tour heads to Belgium next time out with the Grosvenor Casino in Blankenberge the venue for a €1,000+€70 event starting on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th June. Qualify online at Blue Square Poker with a first deposit bonus of up to $500. Sign uphere.
