Some of the biggest names in the world of poker took to the tables earlier this month to help raise almost $700,000 for an American children's hospital.

Phil Hellmuth, Andy Frankenberger, Dan Shak, Brian Hastings and World Poker Tour (WPT) anchor Lyn Gilmartin were among 275 that took part in the ‘All In’ For Kids Poker Tournament to raise funds for The Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia.

Sponsored by The Gitlin Family Foundation in partnership with the WPT Foundation, the November 6 event held at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City donated all of its proceeds to the hospital's Division Of Gastroenterology, Hepatology And Nutrition.

Other professional poker players that took part included Jamie Kerstetter, Scott Baumstein and Angel Guillen in addition to New York Giants offensive guard Justin Pugh and Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster Gregg Murphy.

“In three years with The Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia, the WPT Foundation has proudly helped raise more than $2.3 million to help The Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia provide the most advanced child healthcare available,” said Adam Pilska, President and Chief Executive Officer for the WPT.

“The Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia remains the pre-eminent paediatric hospital in the world, nurturing many of the nation’s pioneers and innovators in paediatric medicine, and the WPT Foundation is honoured to support such a devoted group of doctors, nurses and researchers that are fully dedicated to finding cures and treating illnesses and injuries specific to children.”
