Un jour avant le début des WSOP deux de meilleurs joueurs du monde se sont rencontrés dans les heads-up.
C'était un old school vs. new school - le légendaire joueur du Texas, Doyle Brunson, contre Annette Oberstad - la jeune internet prodige de la Norvège. A la fin, Brunson a prouvé d'être un peu trop fort pour Annette. Il a gagne deux fois de suite, mais seulement avec la chance de son cote.Le premier jeu a commencé calmement avec les deux adversaires qui essayaient comprendre le style du jeu l'un de l'autre. A la fin, Brunson a gagné un grand pot et par la suite après une demi-heure il a triomphé.Le deuxième jeu a commencé beaucoup mieux pour la jeune Norvégienne mais la chance a été contre elle. En deux cruciales mains elle a perdu la plupart de ses jetons et finalement le jeu. En premier main elle a eu la quinte sur la turn qui a été battu par une plus haute de Doyle. Pendant la dernier main Annette est allée all in et il aurait pu semblais qu'elle était en avance avec son KJ contre J3 de Doyle. La chance est pourtant capricieuse et Brunson a eu un J sur le flop et trois sur la turn. Un vrai triomphe d’old school.
