La remisión del Proyecto de Ley de Regulación del Juego a las Cortes Generales ha sido aprobado por el Consejo de Ministros.
La ley buscará regular la operación de empresas y todas las actividades relacionadas al juego “a través de medios electrónicos, informáticos, telemáticos e interactivos”. El gobierno pretende “proporcionar mayor seguridad jurídica a todos los operadores del mercado y aumentar la protección sobre los usuarios de este tipo de servicios,” según el informe divulgado por el Consejo de Ministros.El Proyecto de Ley fue aprobado el viernes pasado será el primer intento de regular “las múltiples y diversas actividades de juego electrónico aparecidas en los últimos años, que se han venido desarrollando en circunstancias que no cumplen los deseables principios de seguridad, transparencia, fiabilidad e integridad que deben regir las actividades que tienen por objeto las explotación de los servicios de juego”.La Asociación Española de Apostadores por Internet (AEDAPI), que ha aportado su apoyo al Gobierno español en el diseño del Proyecto de Ley, ha comentado sobre la aprobación: “Este es el primer paso. Ahora es el momento de trabajar juntos para conseguir una ley de Internet que funcione y que sea positiva para el gobierno, las CC.AA., empresas y sobre todo usuarios que, como todo en Internet, son quienes realmente determinarán el éxito o el fracaso de la ley. Aún hay mucho por hacer,” afirmó Sacha Michaud, Presidente de la AEDAPI.
