El jugador sueco de apuestas altas conocido como Slaktarn, ha sufrido un intento de robo de sus cuentas a través de un supuesto periodista de la revista Card Player.
Parece que un hombre se hizo pasar por un periodista de Card Player y se comunicó con Slaktarn hacia el fin de entrevistarle. El jugador ganó $560.000 en el WCOOP y en el mes de agosto ganó más de 1.7 millones de dólares.El supuesto periodista le envió a Slaktarn unos archivos que él no pudo abrir y unos días después, recibió el ordenador portátil con que se iba a pagar la entrevista pero la entrevista nunca se llevó a cabo. Después de unos días de espera, se puso en contacto con la publicación para confirmar que ningún periodista de este nombre ni método de operación trabajó ni tampoco sabían quien era él. El jugador sueco contactó a la policía y los dejó los archivos y el ordenador portátil.
