WSOPE Main Event: Phil Ivey is no more.

It’s always nice to see Phil Ivey in a big buy-in event, firstly to marvel at how easily he can afford the £10,000 entry fee; secondly hoping that his mere presence will elevate your own poker talents.

Unfortunately I’ve missed that opportunity – Mr Ivey is gone, having seen his £22k chipstack fall to zero and being shown the door.

In not-strictly-poker-related news, the players are now on a 2-hour dinner break and we just saw Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow and Scotty Nguyen all head off together. Apologies in advance to that restaurant; it’s hardly going to be the most quiet and reserved corner table, is it?
