WSOPE Main Event Day 3: Devilfish gets out of jail, does not pass Go...

Tuesday, 30 September 2008

Sat in Seat 1, Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott has been having a fairly rough ride, thanks in part to Daniel Negreanu. When you have two big name players at the same table, you find the friction accentuates as they seek to clarify just who the table captain is. Just moments ago, Devilfish managed to get himself into a spot of bother, but got out by the skin of his teeth.

Negreanu and Ulliott saw a flop which came Js-9c-2d, with all the money going in after Negreanu check raised Ulliott's initial 15k bet on the flop. Hands over, and the 'Fish is in bad shape, with J-T against Negreanu's K-J. An ace on the turn helped Devilfish, who could now pair the board for a split pot, and when a small deuce came on the river, it was arms-aloft for the man from Hull.

Negreanu is still in good shape, while Ulliott has kept himself in the tournament with a piece of timely help.
