WSOP Main Event: Day 2 Summary

WSOP Main Event: Day 2 Summary

Tuesday, 30 September 2008

The sacrifices your reporter makes should not go unnoticed. Here I am, sat on the balcony of the Empire with the rain lashing down. If the updates stop, it might be because I have frazzled. At least it would be a rock and roll way to go.

The top four on the chip count list make for fearsome reading. Andy Bloch finished the day as the overnight chip leader, bagging 321,600, with Cardrunners instructor Brian Townsend tracking him on 290,100.

The next two on the list are well known as well, with eight-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel in third and John Juanda fourth. Seidel managed to clear 282,300 for his day's efforts, while Juanda was particularly stealthy in collecting his 252,500.

As the players gather for Day 3, there are a couple of Brits in the hunt for the £868,000 first prize as Christopher Elliott (231,900) and Chris Moorman (219,500). Devilfish is still in there too, scrapping away on 133,000, while Daniel Negreanu ended up with 203,700 - good enough for ninth overnight.
