Day 2 (technically speaking) is upon us.

Sunday, 21 September 2008

As the second (or third, depending on how you view them) day of the WSOPE £1,500 gains momentum, it’s an exciting time as bubbles burst, aces are cracked and more than a few people go home disappointed.

The star of today is a young Canadian named Daniel Negreanu – with four WSOP bracelets to his name he’s seeking his fifth and as the remaining players clamber up the money ladder, he’s well on the way to achieving this goal. At the 800/1600 a200 level he was very nicely stacked with over twice the average and this continued into the evening as he used his trademark smallball style to decimate his table, winning lots of small pots without showdown.

The other notable bracelet winner, Erik Seidel, left in the late forties as he lost the race with AK against QQ. Bluff Europe favourite Neil ‘Bad Beat’ Channing was averagely stacked going into the money, but solid, patient poker is seeing him hang on steadily.
