partypoker Delays Pokerfest Online

Monday, 28 September 2015

Following a series of technical glitches and network crashes, partypoker has decided to delay the start of its annual Pokerfest Online tournament series for at least a month.

The series was due to get underway yesterday but the powers-that-be at partypoker decided to postpone the start in the face of delays that were threatening to derail the entire event.

"I apologise to our loyal players for having to delay this highly anticipated event," read a statement from Golan Shaked, Games Director for parent firm bwin.party digital entertainment.

"With a total prize pool of $2.5 million up for grabs, we are not willing to take even the slightest risk with our players’ experience during the 80 events that make up Pokerfest Online."

All players currently registered for Pokerfest Online tournaments will have their buy-ins refunded with partypoker additionally set to add a $50,000 freeroll to the schedule. As yet, no revised dates for the competition have been released.
