Ziigmund wins $1.5m from Isildur1

Unsurprisingly, the name of Isildur1 dominated the nosebleed action on Full Tilt Poker last night. Despite the mystery Swede winning $957,000 in total – courtesy of a $1.8m win against Patrik Antonius and $700k more against others including durrrr – he lost $1.5m to Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies at Pot-Limit Omaha.

It took Ziigmund a mere 600 hands to clock up the immense win that saw Isildur1’s contribution take him to a +$2.5m total on Full Tilt Poker. For a few hundred hands the two endured some six-figure swings around the breakeven point before Sahamies broke away to decimate his foe.

A pre-flop raise from Isildur1 saw a call from Ziigmund, who then bet the 5c-7s-2h flop. The rest of the money went in on the Jh turn, totalling a $459,987 pot that Ziigmund had nearly locked up with KT77 for middle set against Isildur1’s AJ53 for two pair and a gutshot. The 8d river was a blank that gave Ziigmund their largest pot of the session.
