Ziigmund down $1.6m for October; durrrr up $990k

Monday, 1 November 2010

Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies has had a dire October, rounded off with a loss to Gus Hansen in the high-stakes 8 game that lined The Great Dane’s pockets to the tune of $244,000. This makes Sahamies unfortunately October’s biggest online loser with over $1.6m of his bankroll in the hands of other high stakes players at Full Tilt Poker.

Hansen, on the other hand, has enjoyed something of a turnaround since winning his first bracelet at the World Series of Poker Europe in the £10,000 Heads Up High Roller event. He’s by no means the biggest winner of October but for him a result not in the red at high stakes is a plus.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan resumed his place at the top of the list of winners; Dwan earned a shade under a million dollars in the month of October to bring him to a total profit of just under four million dollars for the year, still down from his high of $6.7m profits in April but still top of the pile in the high stakes online games.
