Viktor “Isildur1” Blom wins $650,000 in three days

Thursday, 3 February 2011

Last Friday, Viktor Blom had been dealt the doomswitch cards at new sponsor site PokerStars. Prior to the SuperStar Showdown, in which he beat Daniel Cates out of $50,000, Blom had lost over $110,000 playing Cates heads-up and taking on the $5,300 heads-up SnGs for a $55,000 loss.

Now, however, in typical Isildur1 fashion, Blom has bounced back and is well in the black for 2011. In the past four days, Blom has played a staggering 12,000 hands of heads-up and 6-max Hold ‘em and Omaha, taking on a myriad of players and walking away with $647,000 in profit.

After beating jungleman12/w00ki3z out of $52,000 in the SuperStar Showdown, Blom went on a real tear and began by taking $150,000 from gordo16 at the $25/$50 heads-up PLO tables. He then won $44,000 in a five-hour, 4,300-hand NL match. It was the next day that really saw him shine, however.

Blom put in 6,840 hands on the first day of the month and won an incredible $400,000 after taking on the likes of Phil Galfond and Ashton Griffin at the heads-up tables – they lost $147,000 and $56,000 respectively. All in all, Blom took home more than $650,000 since Sunday.

Oh, and the PokerStars blog have announced the next SuperStar Showdown should be February 13 against an opponent who “is not who you think it is...”
