Tyson “POTTERPOKER” Marks wins WCOOP Main Event

Online poker has come a long way – from an unheard-of entity in 2002 to a huge affair this year, with the climactic event of the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker attracting 2,443 entrants and awarding the biggest prize pool in online poker history.

Each of the nine final tablers at the WCOOP $5,200 main event were guaranteed over $100,000 with the top three players becoming dollar millionaires. In the end, Tyson “POTTERPOKER” Marks took down online poker’s biggest ever prize when he walked away from the event $2,278,097.50 richer. The fifty cents is important. Second and third place also received seven-figure payouts.


The two day event whittled down players to 280 or so after one day and thirteen hours of poker; the second day took twelve hours to play down to Marks holding all the virtual chips. Here’s how the nine final tablers got their share of the $12,215,000 prize pool:
