Tom “durrrr” Dwan continues downswing, loses $600k

Friday, 14 May 2010

We’re still not quite sure why Tom Dwan seems to insist on winning millions by way of $4m swings but he’s doing it – since losing over $5m to Isildur1 last year he was up over $8m before, in the past three weeks, losing half of that profit.

Dwan was in the unusual position of being the only losing player in the CAP PLO game, dropping a tidy sum before losing in the 7-game also to wind up down $576,000 for the day. This compounds a $4m downswing in the past few weeks with players such as Phil Ivey and jungleman12 profiting most from durrrr’s misfortune.

The biggest hand of the day was, funnily enough, contested between the two above players. Ivey’s 3-bet was called for a $10,800 pot and jungleman12 called his $7,200 continuation bet on a Jh-3d-9s board. Ivey check-called a 5s turn and then the money went in on a Js river. Ivey mucked when jungleman12 showed QJo for trips.
