Sunday Million returns with $1.527m prize pool

Wednesday, 6 October 2010

Now that the WCOOP is done and dusted the usual Sunday tournaments returned to PokerStars, including the $215 Sunday Million that this week attracted 7,638 players to bust the $1,500,000 guarantee. In the end the last man standing would receive almost a quarter million dollars.

Eventual winner sola100 entered the final table midway up the chip counts but chipped up nicely and picked his spots to eventually reach the heads-up stages against lasklinz, who had a roughly 2-1 chip advantage. It was short lived, though; on a 5-8-9-7 board lasklinz called off the remainder of his opponent’s stack with K-9 only to be shown 6-6 for the straight.

Five hands later, lasklinz got it in with A-9 versus the K-4 of sola100 and a king on the flop was the decider – though the four on the turn helped as well. That shipped sola100 the Sunday Million title and a cool $239,000.
The full final table payouts were as follows:

1st: sola100 ($229,143.87)
2nd: lasklinz ($168,036)
3rd: darrenelias ($114,570)
4th: winga699 ($76,991.04)
5th: Jakivi ($61,104)
6th: Urlastchance ($45,828)
7th: AJacejackAJ ($30,552)
8th: Dsavo ($17,567.40)
9th: $am$pade ($11,838.90)
