Sherkadil wins $215,000 in PokerStars Sunday Million

Monday, 18 October 2010

The PokerStars Sunday Million saw 7,989 entrants this week for a prize pool of just under $1.6m and a first prize of $240,000. The top 1,170 made it into the money after more than four hours of play; six hours later we had a final table with Sherkadil second in chips and ggman2 holding a monster chip lead with almost a third of the chips in play.

Inevitably, the two made it to the final three but ggman2 was eliminated in third place by par4mindy after a three-way chip chop. Sherkadil began heads-up with a huge chip lead of more than 4-1 and on just the third hand the money went in – par4mindy had K-2 dominated against K-T and four hearts on the flop matched Sherkadil’s king, giving him all the chips and the top honours.

The full final table payouts were as follows:

1st: Sherkadil ($215,476.99)
2nd: par4mindy ($157,922.62)
3rd: ggman ($161,867.71)
4th: $Airness22$ ($80,529.12)
5th: samurai_tony ($63,912)
6th: puffinmypurp ($47,934)
7th: BenBrunet ($31,956)
8th: C.K. ($18,374.70)
9th: BilyBob88 ($12,382.95)
