PokerStars WCOOP – Events 22, 23, 24 and 25 conclude

The PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker concluded four events yesterday that offered a prize pool of more than four million dollars across the events. Unusually, though, PokerStars had to pay a six-figure sum to make up the guarantees in three of the four events.
The $150,000 guarantee on the $320 Stud event was ambitious and in the end PokerStars fell just three entries short of the 500 needed to meet the guarantee – still impressive for a poker variant that is considered to be dodo-esque. The $530 NL fell short of the $3,000,000 promised as $100,500 was put into the prize pool by PokerStars when 5,799 players entered.
The NL 4-max $215 event saw ‘only’ 2,915 players but this meant that PokerStars provided $117,000 to make the prize pool up to the $700,000 guarantee. On the other hand, the $215 turbo PLO smashed the $400,000 guarantee by almost $100,000 including re-buys and add-ons. Greg Raymer came close to the final table but eventually ended his tournament in 13th place.
