PokerStars 10th Anniversary Sunday Storm meets guarantee

Tuesday, 13 December 2011

As part of the PokerStars 10th Anniversary celebrations, the guarantee of the $10 + $1 buy-in Sunday Storm was upped from $200k to $1m. No problem for PokerStars who saw 116,400 players compete for a $1.16m prize pool.

The event has no trouble bursting the regular guarantee and before late registration had closed last night the 10A Storm was over the 100,000 players needed to ensure no overlay. With this, 15,166 players would make the money with the winner taking home $157,140.

After ten hours we had our final table with the average stack coming in at more than 60,000,000 and blinds at 900k/1,800,000. Leading the way was Eldasensei who partook in a six-way chip chop deal and leaving $20,000 on the table for the winner.

The last hand was between Kuzjayo and chrjs2k, who began heads-up with the chip deficit before doubling up with A-K versus 2-2. After almost 13 hours the final hand ran out with chrjs2k holding the deuces this time, which held against A-6.

The final table payouts were as follows:
1. chrjs2k - $81,604.01
2. Kuzjayo - $63,462.39
3. Puigmal - $53,113.39
4. Speedyy1986 - $87,437.94
5. emaestrodobi - $55,127.43
