High Stakes DB is continuing to provide yearly summaries for our favourite players in the nosebleed games and Phil Ivey’s results are as impressive as you’d expect. Despite only playing 101,000 hands in the entirety of 2009; he earned a cool $6,513,580 and was a winner at every game he played.

While Patrik Antonius made more with a staggering $8.9m profit, he played more hands but also lost quite badly at certain games – including, surprisingly, Hold ‘em. Ivey, however, made a profit in Stud, Omaha and Hold ‘em games. He earned $1.4m in just 12,000 hands of Stud, cementing his reputation as the best Stud player in the world.

His biggest winning game was undoubtedly PLO with a $3.9m profit. Although this is also true for Ziigmund and Antonius, so it’s a mystery where the money comes from… ah, sorry, Isildur1. We forgot about you.
