Phil Galfond takes $1.66m from Isildur1
Friday, 12 March 2010

Isildur1 and Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond haven’t clashed much at the high stakes tables but that changed last night – an intense match of $300/$600 PLO and NLHE soon became $500/$1,000 PLO and by the end of the session Galfond found himself $1.6m richer.

When the two called it a day – after playing some huge pots around the $400,000 mark – Galfond thanked the rail for watching and made tantalising promise to those who subscribe to his BlueFirePoker video training site:

Isildur1: gg
OMGClayAiken: gg
OMGClayAiken: g2g sleep rail
OMGClayAiken: thanks for the sweat
OMGClayAiken: i even got some of that recorded
OMGClayAiken: gnight
OMGClayAiken: take care guys
OMGClayAiken: thanks

Their largest pot topped $400,000 – Galfond held Kd-Jc-Tc-9d and had the nut straight when the $415,999 pot was built on the flop. Tom Dwan also had some great results against Isildur1 among others, emerging as a $963,000 winner.

In one 24-hour session against Galfond, Dwan, Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo and Cole “CTS” South, Isildur1 was up $600,000; down $400,000; up $500,000 then down $1,500,000.
