Phil Galfond, Brian Hastings lose out in high stakes online PLO

The high stakes games on PokerStars have seen a lot of action, particularly of the four-card variety, since Black Friday. One player who until this week was not getting the best of it was Canadian PokerStars Pro Peter “GARFIELD25” Chan.

However, in just 3,000 hands Chan turned around his minus $500k 2011 by going on a huge heater at the $50/$100 Omaha tables at PokerStars. He picked up a profit of $485,000; enough to erase his deficit for this year.

Not only that, but two of the best Omaha players in the world were the biggest donators. Brian “$tinger 88” Hastings dropped almost six figures while Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond lost out to the tune of $168,000. The biggest pot saw Hastings lose out on a $120,000 monster when his flopped nuts were no good by the river; Chan’s wrap made a straight against his set of aces.
