Peetoon wins over $230,000 in PokerStars Sunday Million

Wednesday, 1 September 2010

The PokerStars Sunday Million, as per usual, smashed its $1.5m guarantee as 8,190 players put up the cash to create a $1,638,000 prize pool with over 1,100 players making a profit and each player at the final table guaranteed at least $12,695.

Eventual winner Peetoon began the final table with a gigantic stack rivalled only by second place FightnIrishh. Between the two they had approximately one third of the chips in play. It was almost pre-destined that the two should do battle heads-up for the six-figure title.

Before a hand had been played one-on-one the tournament was paused to cut a deal. The amounts relative to their chip counts (50m for Peetoon and 31m for FightnIrishh) were quickly agreed on with $30,000 left for the winner. This meant that when Peetoon's A9 held up against 43 on a AJ3 board he was awarded a total of $232,362.

The final table placings and chip counts were as follows:

1st: Peetoon ($232,362.11)
2nd: FightnIrishh ($193,517,89)
3rd: RedIceRap ($122,850.00)
4th: trionojnika ($82,555.20)
5th: Randers ($65,520.00)
6th: Bad Habbitz ($49,140.00)
7th: smsuwrestler ($32,760.00)
8th: jsonelin ($18,837.00)
9th: CON28 ($12,694.50)
