Patrik Antonius beats jungleman12 out of $170,000

Monday, 7 June 2010

Understandably there’s been a drought of high stakes cash game action online in the past week or two as the regular players are all competing in the World Series; whether like Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Phil Ivey they’re madly making bracelet bets or simply going for glory and pride, they’re certainly not playing online.

Jungleman12 is apparently not one for the WSOP though – he’s not even 21 yet. Patrik Antonius obliged the young heads-up specialist with 438 hands of $500/$1,000 NL. We haven’t seen jungleman12 play that high too often but a $1.2m May might have been a motivating factor. However, Antonius netted himself a win and won approximately $167,000 from his opponent.

The largest pot of the day saw Full Tilt Team member Antonius check-call bets from jungleman12 on the flop and turn of a Qs-3c-2s-4s board to build a $40,000 pot by the time the seven of diamonds hit the river. Checking again to jungleman12, Antonius then caught a bluff by calling $34,000 with QJ for top pair to win a $108,000 pot when jungleman12 turned up A2o.

Watch the action live at Full Tilt Poker... but don’t expect to see as much of it until the WSOP is completed.
