Jungleman12 wins over $300,000 at PLO from Ziigmund

Friday, 12 November 2010

We all know Daniel “jungleman12” Cates as a heads-up NL specialist but he has been expanding his game into the four-card regions by taking on players at PLO – and who better than Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, considered by many to be among the best Omaha players in the world?

Over the course of 300 hands jungleman12 won just over $300,000 from Finnish legend Sahamies, who endured a horrible run of cards and thus a negative winrate of $1,000 per hand. This meant he had to slink away from the table with a $301,000 loss and jungleman12 boosted his bankroll sufficiently to become 2010’s largest online winner.

Ziigmund’s luck continued as he decided it would be a good idea to take on Phil Ivey at the same stakes of $200/$400 – low for Ivey, who found himself with 13 outs even against Ziigmund’s flopped trips and nut flush draw to take a $199,000 pot when he made his straight on the turn.
