Isildur1 wins $300k, loses $250k, wins $300k again
Thursday, 9 February 2012

Viktor “Isildur1” Blom took to the online felt at PokerStars again yesterday in a suitably swingy session that nevertheless saw him take home $350,000 in profit. That belies the true nature of his win, though, that saw quarter-million dollar swings galore.

His main victim was Ilari “Ilari_FIN” Sahamies, who lost over $250,000 to Blom in the course of a $100/$200 heads-up PLO match. One of their biggest pots exemplified Sahamies’s luck as he called a preflop 5-bet before getting it in on a 7-5-T board holding Q-4-5-6. Blom turned up A-A-4-T which held, making the nut flush on the river for a $151,000 pot.

Ville Wahlbeck profited from Isildur1’s mid-session downswing, taking home $244,000, while Jeans89 also notched up a six-figure win. This puts Wahlbeck in the top ten highest earners this year with $323k to his name while Jeans89 closes in on one million. Blom is still down almost $250k while Sahamies has dropped $375k in 2012 so far.
