Isildur1 destroys Scott “urnotindangr” Palmer in epic battle

Thursday, 30 December 2010

Forget England bowler James Anderson, it's Isildur1 who has truly proven himself to be the King of Swing since signing for PokerStars. His most recent swing was truly upward and came at the expense of Scott Palmer, better known online as urnotindangr who took on the Swede at multi-tabling heads-up PLO and promptly lost $175,000 over the next 3,500 hands.

Palmer never got anything going in the match, being $10,000 up a few dozen hands in but never again seeing a profit against Isildur1. The Swede ran over him to run up a profit of over $240,000 at one point – nearly 50 buy-ins – before urnotindangr mounted a last-minute comeback to finish the match $175,000 lighter.

Isildur1 has been up and down, unsurprisingly, since he started his new career as a Team PokerStars Pro. He won almost $300,000 within the first 24 hours of his signing being announced – playing poker for 14 of those hours and crushing all 74 of his opponents – before losing it all and more to Phil Galfond. Since then he lost the inaugural SuperStar Showdown to Isaac Haxton and was left with less than $10,000. Now he has run it back up to over $350,000.
