Hastings 2, Isildur1 0 – CardRunners pro wins $1.5m.

Isildur1 once again had a wild ride at the Full Tilt Poker nosebleed tables, but this time it ended in a huge loss after once again taking on Brian Hastings at $500/$1,000 Omaha.

Earlier in the night he had won $550,000 from Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies but he lost almost three times that against CardRunners instructor Hastings. A $300,000 win from Patrik Antonius and a few grand from LarsLuzak were also lost.

“Stinger88”, as Hastings is more commonly known at CardRunners, holds the record for the largest single session online win ever recorded after beating mystery man Isildur1 out of a staggering $4.2m last year, ending his first phenomenal run.

It appears that history has repeated itself – Isildur1 has not come close to building the $6m in earnings he did in 2009 before his loss, but whatever he has made this decade is surely now being withdrawn to Hastings’s bank account. Bing blang blaow indeed.

Over 2,800 hands Hastings won $1,502,071 from Isildur1 playing multiple tables of $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, the same game Hastings won at in their last infamous session. There, he ran over EV by a gigantic $3m and last night still added to his fortunate cards, running $800,000 over EV. Despite the two huge sessions totalling $5.7m in winnings, Hastings would have won $1.8m had he not ran well in all-ins.

However, the largest pot of last night did not indicate Hastings’s fortune, with Isildur1 holding top two pair on a Jd-9d-5d flop in a 5-bet pot. The Swede won $486,000 when he faded Hastings 13 outs to a straight, improving to aces up on the river.

Will Isildur1 return to the nosebleeds a third time, or will he grind up from $25/$50 once more? Also, JUST WHO THE HELL IS HE?!
