Hansen wins $460k; Isildur1 makes a small score

Tuesday, 16 February 2010

Gus Hansen added to his huge total winnings for 2010 with a near-half million score last night, playing over 4,000 hands in the past day – that kind of effort, as Dusty “leatherass” Schmidt would tell you, is readily rewarded.

However the big news is that Isildur1 seems to have become something of a Full Tilt regular again. He’s not attacking the nosebleed stakes again just yet but he’s been very active at $25/$50 to $100/$200 and yesterday he enjoyed a $51,000 win at the $200/$400 CAP PLO games.

He and Brian Hastings clashed again, albeit at considerably lower stakes. Their $4.2m session record won’t be broken, but they did show off some classic Omaha variance in the biggest pot they played – four players saw the flop but Isildur1 check-raised all-in and Hastings called, leaving Hansen and one other player to fold.

On a Kh-3c-2h board, Hastings had Kd-Ks-Qh-7d for top set while Isildur1 had around 50% equity with 6h-6d-5h-4h for a 13-way straight draw and a flush draw. The 6c turn gave Isildur1 the straight and he won the $30,000 pot.
