Gus Hansen wins $1.7m in January

Monday, 8 February 2010

Gus Hansen has gotten off to a great start – evidently the growing popularity of the 7-Game on Full Tilt has done him favours as he leads the winning players for the first month of 2010, having made a tidy $1,743,125 in the month.

He is joined by four other distinguished names in the list of seven-figure earners. Cole “CTS” South made $1.5m while Urindanger, Ziigmund and PostFlopAction all joined him in making over $1m.

Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies was perhaps the most impressive performer of the month – he was on the winning end of the majority of the month’s biggest PLO pots and managed to make $1.1m in less than 10,000 hands played.
On the other end of the spectrum, Patrik Antonius was the surprise big loser of the month, losing almost as much as Hansen won. He dropped $1.75m at the tables in 14,822 hands including losing almost $300,000 in the Durrrr Challenge.

However, we’re sure career online earnings in the region of $15m-$20m takes the edge off nicely. You can watch these guys win and lose millions at Full Tilt Poker.
