Gus Hansen loses over $1.1m at $2k/$4k Limit Omaha 8

Tuesday, 31 August 2010

On Sunday night Phil Ivey and Cole South beat the crap out of Gus Hansen at the $2,000/$4,000 fixed limit Omaha 8 tables at Full Tilt Poker; the Great Dane lost a total of $1,114,500 between that game and the 7-game that he took to later.

In the $2,000/$4,000 Omaha 8 he lost over $430,000 to Ivey and South before losing another $335,000 in the Omaha 8 rounds alone of the 7-game rotation. In total he lost seven figures and this puts him at $2.3m in the red for the year online.

The next biggest loser of the day was Patrik Antonius who dropped $86,000 – the $1.02m disparity between his loss and Hansen’s highlights the day for the Dane. Ivey profited most from Gus’s misfortune having clocked up a $581,200 win in just over a thousand hands while Cole South took home a tidy profit of $494,000. Ivey is now fast catching durrrr in the 2010 leader board with $3.58m in profit since January 1.
