FTOPS XVII – series summary

FTOPS XVII – series summary

Tuesday, 17 August 2010

Almost as quickly as it begun, Full Tilt Poker's seventeenth run of their major online tournament series is over with the $600 Main Event concluding as a TyboVegas victory with a $3,000,000 prize pool. It’s not the first time it has happened at FTOPS but Full Tilt lost out on this one having to make up the $3m guarantee with ‘only’ 4,805 entrants.

That doesn’t tar a good series, though – full of ups and downs with notable names taking home more glory than others. Most notable was Brent “Broberts85” Roberts at the very beginning when he took down Event #1, the $216 NL Hold ‘em, for $164,357 and his second FTOPS title.

He was soon joined by Mickey “mement_mori” Petersen, Mark “xqsavs” Radoja and Mike “chapmoney” Chappus – the last of which earned both his FTOPS jerseys in FTOPS XVII.

The Full Tilt Poker Pros didn’t have a terrible series either, with Chris Ferguson and Jeff Madsen both making final table finishes. However, cream of the crop was Brandon Adams who won an Omaha Hi/Lo event for $40,000.
Props go to the man who finished sixth in Event #3, though – he created a Full Tilt account called FTOPS XVII HERO. Ballsy move, paid off with a final table.
