Team PokerStars pro Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier is having what can only be described as a Seidel-esque month. When it comes to PokerStars-sponsored High Roller events, the former Starcraft player simply cannot be stopped. At the EPT Madrid he took down both the €25,000 High Roller and the €10,000 Turbo 6-max High Roller.

This gave him a combined total of over $1m for the month of May but he wasn’t going to be satisfied until he had won a heads-up high roller event as well. Enter the Spring Championship of Online Poker. Yesterday, “ElkY” defeated Jonathan “Iftarii” Jaffe in the final match, taking home $112,500 to bring his May to a nice $1.13m total.

The match began with a big hand, ElkY betting the flop and turn of a A-A-8-A-J board and raising the river. Jaffe promptly 3-bet the river, prompting ElkY to fold what he claimed was K-K. Grospellier got most of it back when he rivered a jack-high straight against a three barrel bluff and the final hand saw the Canadian’s 7-7 up against A-J. ElkY, being ElkY, flopped an ace to end it right there.
